Ji Jin Hee (지진희) as Oh Tae Suk (오태석) /Cap(tain)
He is the son of the legendary reporter, Oh Min Chul.
His father, who died trying to gather information for reporting in the Vietnam War, will be his role model forever. That’s why he always wants to be on the scene.
As the fact that he has won the “Korean reporter award” three times consecutively suggests, he has great determination to fulfill the duties of a reporter. But because of his uncompromising personality, he always creates conflict within his team. But it’s also difficult to fire him just in case another broadcasting company offers him a position (and make use of his great ability as a reporter). So to his seniors, he is a person to keep in check. To his juniors, he is a person of fear.
He was sent down to a district branch after arguing with the chief reporter about reporting a sensitive political matter. But he returns (to the main office) in order to save the local news (society) section from crisis, and starts to begin part 2 of his life full of vicissitudes.
Son Ye Jin (손예진) as Seo Woo Jin (서우진) / 3rd year reporter
She learns that life is not easy during her junior reporter and second division reporter years, which was like a nightmare.
But she becomes full of hope from the fact that she may now be promoted and go one step closer to achieving her dream, as well as have an easier life at the same time.
But her dream is shattered after Oh Tae Suk, the legendary Cap who was sent to a district/countryside branch because of conflicts with his seniors, returns.
She has to start from the beginning after being sent to work in the second division again, and to make watters worse, she was given the task of training a junior reporter, Lee Soon Chul.
Woo Jin feels anger and even despair because Oh Tae Suk criticises her no matter how hard she tries, and no matter how well she does. But as she feels more and more anger (has a fighting spirit) towards Tae Suk, she is born again as a more aggressive reporter.
Jo Yoon Hee (조윤희) as Yang Myung Eun (양명은)
Yang Myung Eun is Woo Jin’s anchor rival who is equipped with good looks and cleverness which she makes use of till the maxium to excel.
Kim Jung Wook (김정욱) as Seo Woo Hyun (서우현)
Seo Woo Hyun is Seo Woo Jin’s older brother who works as a broadcasting station local news section journalist. He sometimes gives a helping hand to his younger sibling to get certain exclusive news
Jin Goo (진구) as Lee Sun Chul (이선철)
Lee Sun Chul is Seo Woo Jin’s reporter junior
Kim Bo Kyung (김보경) as Lee Joo Hee (이주희)
Lee Joo Hee is a local news section journalist who bears the responsibility of housekeeping the local news section.

I just finished to watch the ep. 10. Hurray, finally got the kdrama spirit back. The beauty of kdrama is their good values and never-giving up’s spirit. Even though it’s ratings ware not high, but I just loved this drama. Recommended to watch! Thank you Co2r and Elaine.

Did you watch Spotlight? It’s like a case of “Korean Watergate”. I enjoyed the drama so much that I wanted to recommend it to you.
As a non-korean, I did not know about their news and documentaries; but as a kdrama watcher, I liked their drama’s good values and morals.
This drama will tell you so much about how the Korean news-reporters and their broadcasting systems. It will tell you how the news-reporters struggles with the truth and powers of all kinds. It was not a romantic drama, but full of passions with people. I Recommented this drama for you.

thanks so much for sharing this drama! This drama is really, really good, despite its low ratings. What I love about dramas is not only the sappy, lovey dovey parts, but how they go deep into societal issues and give an insider’s perspective. This drama does just that. At first I thought it would be like All About Eve, considering both are about TV stations, but this one takes a totally different view. Again, thanks for sharing!
